Zhanna Bazarova

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

Life doesn't always unfold the way we expected. Sometimes change is something we choose, and sometimes it happens to us, leaving us trying to adjust to a reality we didn't ask for. Therapy can be a place to make sense of what has happened, reconnect with yourself, and find a way forward that feels possible and meaningful.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental. I believe in meeting you where you are and understanding your experiences in the context of your relationships, culture, circumstances, and what matters most to you. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, and our work together will be shaped by your individual needs and goals.

I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress and burnout, grief and loss, trauma-related concerns, relationship difficulties, and significant life changes. I also work with couples experiencing relationship difficulties, communication challenges, and periods of transition or stress. I support clients adjusting to changes in their health, daily functioning, work, relationships, or sense of self following difficult or disruptive experiences. These changes can affect many areas of life at once, and therapy can help you process their emotional impact while finding ways to adapt and move forward.

My work is grounded in person-centred and trauma-informed care. Depending on your needs, therapy may involve exploring experiences and patterns more deeply, developing new perspectives, or finding practical strategies for the challenges you are facing. I draw from CBT, solution-focused, mindfulness, existential, and narrative approaches, adapting our work to what is most helpful for you.

I have a particular interest in supporting clients navigating immigration and cultural transitions, including questions of identity, belonging, and finding a sense of home in a new environment.

I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I offer therapy in English and Russian.
